Thanks to the recent release of the Kinetic 1/48 Mirage IIIE series, we are seeing a number of great sheets for this kit. The latest is from GD Kits in Switzerland and it provides markings for the Swiss version, the Mirage IIIS and DS. The sheet itself is superbly printed by Cartograf. You are provided enough markings and insignia to do any of the aircraft in Swiss service. I get the impression that this sheet is mainly designed for the later grey schemes carried by the aircraft prior to their retirement.

You may well notice a second addendum sheet. This is because the items on this addendum replace the too large ones on the main sheet. The good news about this is that you now have the larger insignia for the pre-grey era aircraft. Since most of the markings were the same for those planes, it allows one of those to be built as well. Serials and unit badges are provided for the full run of planes so all you really need is a photograph in order to duplicate your favorite aircraft. I like this approach as it does not limit the builder to a single aircraft, but opens up the entire fleet.

The instructions are on card quality paper and provide all the hints and suggestions you need to build an accurate Swiss Mirage using the parts that are already included in the Kinetic box. If one pays attention to these details, then a superb model can be built using these great decals.
