The third
Luftwaffe Sabre sheet includes more interesting schemes, all of these
in RAL 6014 Olive Green, 7012 Basalt Grey and 7001 Silver. The recommended
kit for this is the Hasegawa or Academy Sabre though you could also use the
Monogram or Italeri/ESCI kit if you wished. You do need to realize that
these were all Canadair Mk 6 versions with what appears to be slatted 6-3
wins and no wing fences. Sabre 6s also had a cooling scoop near the
trailing edge of the wing.
First is
the very colorful plane from 2./JG 72 at Leck in 1962.
Next is from 3./JBG 43 in 1964
The final scheme is from 2./JG 73 in 1963.
Of these three units, JBG 43 went on to Alpha Jets and went away when the Alpha Jets were retired. The sheet includes insignia and data markings for one aircraft.
