With the new Trumpeter/Hobbycraft 1/24 P-51D Mustang hitting the streets, it was only a matter of time before there were aftermarket decal sheets for it. Of course, it will also fit the Airfix and Bandai versions, but was designed for the Trumpeter version.

Though not shown, there is also a nearly full size sheet that contains the insignia. There are enough data markings for one aircraft, and really, how many folks are going to build more than one of these? The sheet is really a continuation of several other Eagle Strike sheets on the 352nd FG and this one offers some not unexpected aces' planes.

First on the sheet is PE*X 'Straw Boss 2' from the 328th FS. It has the requisite blue nose typical of this group and also the  red rudder. It also has D-Day stripes that the builder will have to paint on, but in this scale that should be pretty easy. It also has black stripes on the underside of the horizontal stabilizers.

Next is one of the many 'Cripes A Mighty' Mustangs of George Preddy. All of the proper red markings for the gun ports (the panels themselves need painted white) and trim tabs are included as are the stripes for the radio mast. This aircraft also has the red rudder of a 328 FS plane and has two black stripes under the fuselage. There is no white. Again, two black stripes under the horizontal stabs.

Finally, 'Petie 3rd' of John Meyers from the 487th FS. This one has the black parts of the D-Day stripes under the fuselage and full black recognition stripes on the wings and stabs. These must be painted on by the builder. It also has a blue tail typical of the 487th. One mustn't forget that on Mustangs, the wings were in aluminum dope and not natural metal.

All in all, a nice option for the markings in the kit and undoubtedly better decals as well!
