This is the second new FW-190A-5 sheet from Eagle Cals. As with the first one, this one covers four aircraft. It also provides a full stencil suite for one and insignia for two if the modeler chooses wisely. As with the previous sheet, this one is designed for the Hasegawa 1/32 FW-190A-5.
First up is Black 13, the aircraft of Erich Hondt of 2./JG11. This aircraft is in the standard scheme of RM 74/75/76. It has a yellow fuselage band and the white tail of a section leader. As with all the planes on this sheet, it is from the mid-1943 time period.
Next up is Egon Mayer's aircraft when he was Gruppenkommander of III./JG 2. In standard scheme, this aircraft has the yellow lower cowling of all the planes on this sheet as well as a yellow rudder with his kill markings on it.
White 1 is a 1./JG 1 aircraft, also in standard scheme but with the intricate checkerboard nose pattern common with this unit. There is a separate sheet (not shown) with the nose checkers on it. A comprehensive guide to placing these decals is given with the instructions so no worries on getting this one on right!
Finally, Walter Nowotny's White 4 when he was with I./JG 54. Typical of this unit, the camo is non-standard being RLM 70/71 on the upper surfaces. Standard ID markings for the eastern front in terms of a yellow fuselage band, lower wing tips and lower rudder.
As always, the instructions are most complete and will bring out any specific differences unique to each aircraft.
Thanks to EagleCals for the review sheet
