As is the norm nowadays, with the release of a new kit, there soon follows a bevy of aftermarket bits and pieces to help to either improve the kit or provide options not given with that kit. In this case, Eagle Cals has answered the need for different options in the form of the first of two new sheets dedicated to the Hasegawa 1/32 FW-190A-5.

For those of you who have not had the opportunity to build any of these new Hasegawa 1/32 kits, you are in for a treat, and Eagle Cals new sheets will only enhance that experience.

This sheet covers four aircraft. The decal sheet provides enough insignia to do two planes if you make your choices carefully. There is a full stencil suite for one plane and Eagle Cals provides a comprehensive data placement guide.

First up is Black 1 as flown by Dietrich Wickop, the Gruppenkommander of II./JG 1 in mid 1943. This aircraft is in the standard scheme of RLM 74/75/76 with a white tip on the prop spinner and yellow under the engine cowling.

Next is Yellow 2 from 9./JG 2. This aircraft has the yellow rudder and lower cowling as well as black around the exhaust area (provided as a decal). As with all the planes in this sheet, it is from mid-1943.

An Eastern Front aircraft is the mount of Walter Nowotny of I./JG 54. This aircraft has had most of its uppersurface repainted in what seems to be RLM 70/71. Yellow ID markings on the fuselage, lower wing tips, lower rudder and lower cowling.

Finally, White 7 of I./JG 1 in standard colors with a full yellow cowling and spinner. The previous number has been over-painted.

An excellent double sheet and just the thing for your next FW-190A-5 build.

Thanks to EagleCals for the review sheet
