This sheet comes on the heels of the new Trumpeter 1/32 Ju-87B kit so it makes sense that Eagle Cals would release it in all the popular scales. This particular sheet is the 1/48 offering and provides two very interesting Stukas.
The first one is from StG 2 as part of the assault on Yugoslavia and Greece. This as well as all the other options are in the standard RLM 70/71/65 scheme, this one having a yellow cowling and yellow rudder. Some planes in this theater had yellow elevators, but there is no indication that this one was so equipped.
The second option is from 8./StG 77 in Russia during 1941. This one has the usual Eastern Front markings of a yellow fuselage band and lower wing tips. The spinner on this one has a white forward half with a red tip.
Option three is one that was with Stab II./StG 2, this time in the Mediterranean during 1942. It is pretty standard in that it has but the white fuselage band under the insignia and a green spinner front.
Finally, an Italian Stuka with 209 Squadriglia, 96 Gruppo. White fuselage band and yellow forward cowling on this one with all the German markings overpainted in a grey. No upper wing markings at all on this one. I am a bit surprised that this did not have the usual very large German insignia on the bottom, but the overpainted area on the lower wings is a smaller patch out near the wing tips.
The sheet is superbly printed by Cartograf. There are markings enough to do one German and the Italian aircraft with data markings for one. The swastikas are segmented so the sheet can be sold in those countries squeamish about the marking. A proper touch is that there are additional bits of the underwing insignia to go on the dive brakes, something a few kit makers have missed.
No kit is specified, but I would have to guess that most will use this on the new Trumpeter 1/32 Ju-87B, though it would be equally useable on the older Revell kit.
