NOTES: |
This second sheet also covers a pair of camouflaged B-17Gs. These are in Olive Drab over Neutral Grey and both have B-17F style upper turrets. Of course, the only kit around in this scale is by Monogram, but it is still a good kit.
'The Duke of Paducah' is the first aircraft from the 324 BS/ 91 BG. She was damaged on her first mission. When repaired had 'The Black Swan' taxi into it, resulting in more repair time. Finally completing 29 missions, she was retired due to excessive battle damage and served as a radio relay ship until scrapped at the end of the war.
From the 560 BS/388 BG in late 1943 is the shark-mouthed 'Tiger Girl'. The aircraft originally flew without the 'eyes' so those are an option. There are also two styles of 'H' for the fin markings, but I found no explanation as to which is to be used when.
Insignia can be found on Cutting Edge sheets 48263 if required.
