This sheet from Caracal Models covers the F-102 Delta Dart  with the early 'Case X' wing. This wing had the upturned tips, whereas the later version had them downturned. The F-102 has only been available from Hasegawa as one of its first generation kits and most of us were delighted that Meng released this aircraft just a short while ago. It is for the Meng kit that these decals were designed, though I am sure they would fit the Hasegawa one.

There are six different options on this one, the majority of which are either in overall ADC Grey (FS 16473) or in SEA four color camouflage. Going by the sheet cover, here is what is provided:

First is a 111FIS Texas ANG plane. This aircraft is rather bare of any fancy markings having only the state name and unit insignia on the fin with stripes on the outer drop tanks.

Next is one from the 199 FIS Hawaii ANG. This has the very colorful tail band used by this squadron on all of its subsequent aircraft types in one form or another.

The third is from the 178 FIS North Dakota ANG. It has the required 'Happy Hooligans' tail band.

The first of our camouflaged planes is from the 190 FIS Idaho ANG. This one is unique in having a sharkmouth, a marking used in the last days of 102 operations as the resulting drone conversion kept this feature.

A unit that served in Vietnam was the 509 FIS, coded PK. I am not sure if this is accurate or not, but all of these planes are shown in the markings drawing as not having the IR sensor forward of the canopy. I would think that some of these would have been so equipped so you may wish to check photo references for this feature.

The last option is one of the few non-US users of the F-102. In this case it is a Turkish air force version with the later, smaller roundels.

The sheet has enough data markings for one aircraft and enough insignia for three planes if you choose them properly. The Meng decals look to be pretty nice so perhaps you can use some of them when you do multiple builds from this sheet. As usual, the sheet is superbly printed by Catrograf so you know you are getting the best.

It is nice to see aftermarket for aircraft like this and I'd encourage folks to buy this so they can do more. You can get this sheet direct from http://www.caracalmodels.com/cd72009.html.
