Caracal Models has provided 1/72 modelers with a nice set of markings for the Italeri T-45 Goshawk. Now I know that this kit is relatively old and was developed during the prototype phase of the T-45 so I am unsure if it has been updated to current production standards. However, it is the modeler's only choice when it comes to this aircraft.

This sheet covers current T-45C aircraft, which differ from the A version in having a complete 'glass' cockpit to make it more like the F-18E/F Hornet, a plane that many pilots will move on towards once they complete fast jet training. Basically, these planes are overall white with large areas painted international orange. There are five subjects on this sheet.

The first is the display aircraft from NAS Kingsville and assigned to VT-25. This one has a black nose, red wing tips and no international orange on the fin.

Next on the cover is the plane assigned to VX-23 at NAS Patuxent River in 20111

Third is a plane from the 'Tigers' of VT-9 at NAS Meridian in 2012. This one has tiger stripes on the fin, a fuselage band and a shark mouth.

The other two options are from NAS Meridian. THe first is the 150th Goshawk with a special fuselage marking. The other is a standard plane from VT-7 'Eagles', the last unit to fly the Skyhawk. It has a nice fuselage band with the unit name on it and additional fin markings. This is the CO's plane.

The set includes full color painting and markings guide and there are enough common markings included to do two planes. The decals are printed by Microscale and are free from any printing flaws.
