For their next sheet, Caracal Models has returned to doing Air National Guard planes and this time has chosen the F-106. This is a nice choice and the set offers markings for six planes from three different units. All of these planes are overall ADC Grey (FS 16473) with black radomes and anti-glare panels. The set includes enough common markings for one aircraft, however, the Monogram kit (now Revell kit) has a great decal sheet and you can easily snag these common bits for additional builds.

The first pair are from the 159 FIS, Florida ANG. There are options for either a single seat F-106A or a two seat F-106B. I do not recall who does a two seat conversion, but I know there is one out there. This unit transitioned to the F-16 ADF and in 1995 to the F-15 which it is still flying.

Next up is by far the most requested unit here at MM (I must get several e-mails a year on this) for the 101 FIS, Massachusetts ANG. Again, there are options for either an A or B model 106. This unit transitioned to the F-15 and kept them until 2008 with the 101st turned into an 'Intelligence Squadron' (whatever that is) and all flying ceased.

The final one is from the 186 FIS, Montana ANG. This unit probably kept their 106s longer than the others, and they also transitioned to the F-16 ADF, later the F-16C until 2008 when they got F-15Cs. They only kept those a couple of years and are now flying C-130 trash haulers.

As usual, the decals are superbly printed by Cartograf and the set of sheets comes with full color placement guides for all six options. In all, a most welcome sheet for those who like F-106s.
