AOA Decals has produced their first 1/35 decal sheet and this one is for the OH-6A 'Loach'. There has been a single kit produced of this aircraft in this scale and that is the Dragon kit, which has also been reboxed by Italeri.  This set offers markings for 24 different aircraft, all of them in overall olive drab except for one which has a lighter brown camouflage covering large areas.

So here is what is on the sheet:

D Troop, 1st Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment (x3)

A Troop, 7th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment (x2)

D Troop, 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment

F Troop, 4th Cavalry Regiment

F Troop, 8th Cavalry Regiment

C Troop, 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment (x2)

D Troop, 1st Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment

A Troop, 2nd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment

B Troop, 2nd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment

C Troop, 3rd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment (former D Trp, 3rd Sq, 5th Cav)

B Troop, 7th Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment (x2)

C Troop, 7th Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment

B Troop, 25th Aviation Battalion

B Company, 123rd Aviation Battalion

Casper Platoon, 173rd Airborne Brigade

326th Airborne Medical Company, 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division

HQ Company, 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division

Unknown unit (x2)

This means you have a lot to choose from and several of them are quite colorful, especially those with international orange tail section. There are sufficient exterior and interior stencils for two helos and a large stencil placement guide is provided. To see more on what is on the sheet, I recommend visiting the link below.

As an interesting note, several of the survivors of the war went on to serve with the US Border Patrol. I can recall photographing one in San Diego in 1993 that has been listed as shot down in South Vietnam and written off. Apparently these little helos did not stay dead long! With any luck, we'll see this sheet done in other scales as well.
