AOA Decals continues with their VA-65 history by taking us into the TRAM and low viz colors era. This sheet covers two cruises. Note that the decals include enough insignia and general markings to do at least two of the planes on the sheet.

The initial option is when they were aboard the USS Dwight D Eisenhower in 1981/82. This aircraft still has a 'hi viz' radome but the rest of the aircraft is a single shade of grey with mostly low viz markings.

The next three options are all from the unit's final excursion, and this wa aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt in 1990/91 during Desert Storm. Two planes are in the two grey Tactical Paint Scheme used at this time. One is the CAG bird so has some additional red in the grey markings. The other is a standard line bird.

The most flamboyant of the three is one that was painted in a temporary camouflage scheme of redbrown and sand. This was quickly removed before returning to the US. The upper color pattern is unknown as no images have come to light showing this aspect of the camo. It means that what is shown is speculative.

For those into 1/32 Intruders, you are pretty well limited to the Trumpeter kit. It has its issues, but nothing that cannot be corrected by a dedicated modeler. The sheet provides information on how to make these upgrades.

If you like your Intruders big, you should seriously consider this set.
