One thing that has been conspicuously absent from US decal makers has been schemes for Brit Phantoms. Now we have a series of interesting sheets from Aeromaster to plug that gap. There really is only one kit for the 1/48 modeler, and that is the various boxings of the Hasegawa kit. These kits are not cheap so if you find one at a reasonable price, pick it up.

First scheme is for an early FGR.2 from 31 Squadron. This is in the intermediate scheme of dark green/dark sea grey over light aircraft grey. It has the red/blue roundels and the colors were probably matte.

Next is a later FGR.2 in the last greys scheme of  barley grey over light aircraft grey. What is not shown in the color markings is the darker medium sea grey for the inner wing sections as was normal for this particular scheme. Not sure just why that was missed, but there it is. This 92 Squadron bird also has a roundel blue fin and canopy area.

This Royal Navy FG.1 was from 700P Sq and the initial work-up unit for the Phantom. It is in extra dark sea grey over white as was standard for RN Phantoms.

Finally, a 767 Sq FG.1 in RAF colors as with the first aircraft. The difference is that these were gloss. 767 Sq was the training squadron for both RAF and RN pilots who would be flying the FG.1.

A great sheet for your next Brit F-4!
