This is another in the continuing series of sheet on the FW-190. This one has a variety of early planes from different units, so let's get to it.

First is white 8, an A-2 version in RLM 74/75/76. This 7./JG 2 plane has some mottling on the aft fuselage and a place where a previous tactical number was painted out. It has a yellow rudder and lower cowling. The exhaust area is painted black as it is on the next and last plane.

From 1./JG 1 is this Black and White checked cowled A-4. White 4 is also in RLM 74/75/76 with a lower yellow cowling and some rather thick mottling on the fuselage.

This winter scheme Fw-190A-4 is from Stab/JG 54. It is complete with yellow theater markings and a small yellow patch on the lower rudder.

A similar A-4, White 10 from 1./JG 54 has a more randomly painted white scheme over its dark green (possibly RLM 71) upper surface.

Finally, a 'shark mouth' from 5./JG 1. Red 7 is an A-2 version in RLM 74/75/76 with mottling on the tail and upper fuselage.

For kits in 1/48 you have the Tamiya A-3 version and the Dragon A-4 variant as your only real choices. The A-3 can easily be backdated to an A-2 since the planes were nearly identical. Only hassle will be cutting the gear doors. Why Tamiya chose to mold them shut is beyond me as you'll find many photos with these gears open when on the ground.

You'll note that this is a short sheet. The rest of it was no more than insignias so I chose to crop the image.
