Revell 1/25 1993 Trans Am Rain-Ex Camaro

Kit Number: 7358

Decals : A nice sheet for #33, Scott Sharp's `93 championship car.

Comments: Race cars are a favorite of mine and when I saw Revell's TransAm Camaro, it quickly went on the work bench. I chose the Rain-Ex version as it was just one color with no masking required. The kit is incredibly detailed with no aspect of the car left off. From its beautifully detailed chassis and roll cage to the intricate suspension and header system, this kit is just great. It is not a slap together model. It requires patience and careful building, but you will be rewarded with a great kit.

You have the opportunity to use a huge number of different colors as well as lots of metallized paint. This car has a muffler (!) that is located practically next to the driver. Since the car sits so low to the ground, the exhaust system is routed around the driver just outside the roll cage. The finished kit has a removable engine cover and great looking wheels and tires.

The decals react well to setting solutions and are remarkably tough and thin. It is good that they are tough as it took a lot of fiddling to get them all on. It is fortunate that there are so many as I messed up in a few spots, yet it is barely noticeable.

The kit is well engineered and went together with few problems. Anyone with experience building cars will have no trouble with this one. It is a nice change from NASCAR and I can only hope there is a Mustang in the future.

Very Late Note: As much as I'd like to show better images, the car had a class A accident and basically devolved to its component parts!
