Mushroom Model Publications are now printing and distributing the Ventura series of books and this is their first new one on the Merlin PR Spitfires.

The photo recon versions of the Spitfire have often been overlooked by enthusiasts, and it is a shame as these planes were often some of the more interesting in terms of conversions and some of the early color schemes they carried.

The author covers  the development, operational history, colors and markings of the interesting aircraft. Within its 64 pages are superb photos and some excellent color artwork of these interesting aircraft. In addition to the RAF use of the plane, Soviet and US operations are covered. Post-war, the recce Spitfire found a home in several nations' air arms, with that also being covered in the book.

Overall, this is a superb reference on the type and if you want to know more about these aircraft or are a Spitfire fanatic, then this is one you simply must have.
