TOMCAT ALLEY
By David F. Brown

$59.95

Schiffer Publishing 1998
Hardcover, 252 pages

Do you have a soft spot in your heart for the F-14?  I know I do and so does Dave Brown.  In fact, this book is the result of many years of Tomcat photography by Dave and a host of other photographers.

Similar to 'Roll Call Thud', but much more comprehensive in photo coverage, this book has images of all but a few of the 712 Tomcats built between the years of 1970 and 1992. There are three photos per page and a brief history of each bureau number.  Dave has successfully varied the images so that you see the full gamut of camoflage schemes and special markings carried by the Tomcat from its inception until September 1997, when image and information collection for this book was finalized so that it could be published.

In addition to the excellent selection of photographs, there is a section in the rear of unit patches and stickers covering all Tomcat operating squadrons.

Dave has done a superb job on this book and other than a few photo glitches (courtesy of the Schiffer editors), it is an excellent book and well worth the price.  If you are a true Tomcat enthusiast, then your bookshelf is not complete without this book.

Below is an example of what is offered on each page of the book.  These are F-14Ds 163894-896.
