Edition #10 of U-Boot im Focus arrived in the post the other day and once again, it is an interesting edition full of quality photographs and stories.

In line with most other editions, this one contains a number of smaller articles with a few of length. I was impressed with the number of conning tower images, each one with its unique art work. This work is repeated in full color profiles of this section of the boat so that readers can get an idea of what this area looked like during the time. The boat that gets a lot of page coverage is U-653 with its 'lobster pinching Churchill' artwork.

Another boat that gets a lot of pages is U-778. This boat was involved in helping civilians escape the Danzig area in the last months of the war, a mission that undoubtedly saved their lives as the Soviets treated civilians most cruelly. Another interesting article was on the Zeiss binoculars used by ship crews and there is a great photo essay on operations in the Arctic that you'll have to see to believe.

In all, this edition only helps to cement the sterling reputation that U-boot im Focus has garnered over the years as the premier U-boat periodical. If you have an interest in these boats, then you should seriously consider a subscription.
