Designed for the sole purpose of intercepting and shooting down Soviet long range bombers, the F-89 Scorpion served a long and productive life in both the USAF and the US Air National Guard, finally retiring in the mid 1970s.
In this new Walk Around book from Squadron Signal Publications, we get a chance to see not only a lot of superb photos of this aircraft while it was in service, but also areas and details that are seldom seen even when visiting those extant airframes today. Typical of the newer Squadron books, this one is chock full of color photographs, color profiles and detail drawings of systems that will be a boon to those modeling the aircraft.
It starts with a short historical background of the aircraft and then dives right in with detail photos taken from extant museum and display aircraft. These show the sort of detail that has made this series so useful to the modeler and so interesting to the enthusiast. It makes into a well rounded publication that I know you will enjoy reading and just browsing through time and time again. It is one that I can highly recommend to you.
