The latest from AirTime is this super compilation of articles from World Airpower Journal and International Airpower Review. In it are all the aircraft that are currently in the US Navy's inventory, though that will shortly change with the retirement of several types. Though there are no where near the different types as in the past, there are still a goodly selection of aircraft that land and take off today's aircraft carriers.

The most detail is given to the more 'flashy' types such as the F-14 Tomcat, F-18 Hornets, and EA-6B Prowler, which comprise about 80% or more of the book. The others are given a few pages and this includes the SH-60 Seahawk, T-45 Hawk, S-3 Viking, C-2 Greyhound and MH-53 Sea Dragon.

There are over 500 photographs, drawings and cut-aways. Each of the major aircraft type includes a full history and also provides a full listing of the units that have operated the aircraft. Sadly, there is also a schedule for disestablishment for the F-14 and the S-3, two aircraft that are on the way out of the inventory.

This 176 page, hardbound book is an excellent anthology and an equally good value for the money. It is a book that I can highly recommend, and one that will be pulled from the shelf again and again to use as a reference on the types.
