Specialty Press is known for its WarbirdTech series and this is a new one from them on racing cars to start their RacecarTech.

The book concentrates on the Ford Taurus, but really, it could be about any of the major players in the NASCAR racing series. This is basically because the rules are so strict. Other than the Ford body and engine, this could be a Dodge or Chevrolet.

William Burt takes us on a fascinating journey beginning with a brief background history on NASCAR, then he gets right into the nuts and bolts of building the chassis, getting the body ready, outfitting the interior parts, designing and building the suspension, and getting the engine ready to go.

Once the car is built, then it is time to go to the track and we are again taken through the various stages of prep needed at the track to get the very best out of the car and the race itself. This is followed by a modeler's resource on kits and decals for the Taurus.

All of this is accompanied by crystal clear photography, the majority of which is in color. We can see the way the car comes together from its basic components to the finished product. The pictures alone make this book an absolute must of the the NASCAR modeler as we can see what goes where and the colors used. It also adds a great deal of flavor to the book. Once I started reading, I was drawn in and hooked until the very end. I found this a superb book on what it takes to field a modern NASCAR racer and I'm sure that you will as well.
