You may recall a similar book on 1970's airliners by this author and this book continues on where that one left off. The 1980s saw a huge increase in market penetration by Airbus in the category of medium to long range airlines. It also saw the coming and going of various liveries as one airline merged with or bought out another. Still others went bankrupt and disappeared from the scene.

Through all this there were still those operating the venerable piston engine aircraft like the DC-3 or DC-6. Others were utilizing older Boeing 707 and Douglas DC-8 aircraft. Feeder lines were growing in scope and being outfitted with newer aircraft, most of which were turboprop powered.

Within these 144 pages are over 300 color photos from around the world that are sure to delight the airliner enthusiast. I found it to be another superlative photo coverage and I'm sure that you will as well. If you like airliners, this is a book for you.
