Developed as a strike fighter with some air to air capabilities, the Sepecat Jaguar has served in the forces of France and the UK for around 30 years, a long time for a military aircraft. As such, it has now been withdrawn from service, though it is still continuing to fly with some of the smaller air forces of the world.

The last unit in the RAF to fly this plane was 6 Sq, which flew its last sortie in May of 2007. The commanding officer of this unit wanted something to present to the men and women of his squadron as a personal gift so had this book published. It is so good that it is now available to the general public. Primarily a photographic record of the last year of operation, the book is eye candy at its very best. Chock full of 250 full color photographs, all aspects of Jaguar operations, including deployment to the Middle East, a last minute base change and the winding down of flight ops are all covered within its pages.

The book is printed in landscape format so that none of the photos will have to cover 'the trench' in the middle of the book. The quality of the images, and especially those that are air to air, are absolutely top notch. For those of us who wish to commemorate the end of an era, this is a book you simply must have in your library.
