Apparently Gerry Manning has a lot of photographs of propliners and wants to share them with us. Actually, they are not all propliners in the sense of them being from TWA or KLM, but they are those types of aircraft.

Since one of the most photogenic propeller driven large aircraft is the venerable DC-3, it is not surprising that a goodly portion of this book covers that aircraft. Actually, most of them are C-47s, but you know what is meant. These are mostly third tier cargo carriers with aircraft like insect sprayers, bush aircraft and warbirds tossed into the mix. There are also some aircraft that are still used in the 'just nice to fly them around' category.

Another section is on floatplanes. This is the purvey of Beavers, Otters, Beech 18s and other types are fly in Canada for the most part, during the summer months. One thing that central and eastern Canada has is a lot of lakes and people like to be plunked down on one of those with a tent and provisions and left for a while.

The third major section is on those used for pleasure flights. Here we find most of the war birds and those that have been repainted in airline markings. It also includes flying preserved types and a few military prop planes as well.

All the photos are full color and nicely photographed. It is a book of eye candy and one that any propeller driven airliner/cargo enthusiast will love to have in their collection. I thoroughly enjoyed browsing through it and I know you will as well.
