Continuing with Classic Publications' superb series on Lufwaffe units, we have this one on miscellaneous support units. The author is quick to point out that this does not include the myriad training units and even discounting those, the units covered are only a few of the the various ones operated by the Luftwaffe. He also limits the book to the war years, even though the title says 1933.

Despite these limitations, the book covers a huge number of units that flew just about every type that was in the Luftwaffe inventory. Each known unit in a category is given some sort of entry, even if it is only a sentence or two. These units consist of HQ, command, staff and administration, Aerial spraying, Meteorological units, Communications and courier flights, Air ambulance, some aerial photograph units, Flak assistance units, Radio jamming units, Ferry units, and a lot more, including some specialized SS support units.

As is the norm with Classic books, the edition is jam packed with photos and color profiles of the various types that were flown. Here you will see photos of Galland's Si-204, a Do-23 outfitted as an aerial sprayer, an Avia B-71 assigned to give Flak units some practice and a myriad of other types. I daresay that there are many subjects that will provide interest to the reader and inspiration for the modeler

Overall, it is an outstanding reference book on the subject and one that I doubt will be surpassed any time soon. Like most other Classic Luftwaffe books, this one is bound to sell well.
