Here is another color-filled special from Gerry Manning. This time, it isn't airliners, but preserved aircraft that have been captured on film. It includes not only those in museums or up on poles somewhere, but also those that have been restored to flight.

It includes everything that flies from fighters to bombers to airliners to light aircraft to helicopters. All of it in full color.

The book has 160 pages and contains between 6-7 images per page, each with a short caption as to some background on the subject as well as when and where it was photographed.  All of the photos were taken by the author and it seems that he gets around.

While there seems to be a  organization to how the images are presented (helicopters, civil light aircraft, USN aircraft), it isn't delineated as such and so one just starts at page one and enjoys the journey.

I was personally amazed at how many of these aircraft are in my own photo collection that I have taken over the many years. It seems that we have visited many of the same museums and collections, especially in the US and UK.

Overall, a very nice book that is just pure eye candy for any aviation enthusiast and one that is most recommended.
