This is the second 'how to' book from Richard Marmo and covers Science Fiction model spacecraft. Unlike his previous book, the modeling gets underway rather quickly and covers a number of interesting subjects.

The book opens with a general introduction to the genre and continues with a chapter on tools and equipment. Then it gets right into the meat of the subject. The author takes the reader through step by step builds of various models and of varying degrees of difficulty.

The first articles are on standard styrene models, providing hints, tips and helpful suggestions during each build. Starting off with those that are relatively simple and progressing to more and more difficult subjects, each is well illustrated and delineates those areas of the build which will need special attention. As sci-fi subjects are usually not the best fitting, the author provides several innovative and useful methods of improving the building process.

After doing some rather straight-forward builds, the book continues into kit bashing, conversions and resin short run kits. Each of them is fully explained and illustrated so that one can take this book and follow each of the construction articles. The book ends with a section on providing display bases to help to best present the subject as well as a reference section.

Overall, a very good presentation of the subject. If you are struggling with building a sci-fi spacecraft, you'll find this book to be a big help in overcoming  construction hurdles.
