NOTES:

R/T arrived with its Summer edition so it seems they have managed to catch things up, though it really doesn't matter to most of us as it is well worth waiting for. pring edition and actually during spring which is a nice touch. As is becoming more frequent with many club publications, there are not as many articles as you have seen in the past, but those that are provided are generally more detailed or photo intensive. As some of you know, IPMS Canada also has on-line content, so this may well be gleaning articles from the paper publication.

Once past the editorial and columns by the national director and others, we get into the articles.

First off is a very well done Revell 1/32 Cub on floats done by George Perkowski. George has taken the time and effort to improve the details on this one and the result is very much worth it.

Next is a subject on which I am personally ambivalent, a Yamaha 1/12 Yamaha GP motorcyle. While they do not ring my bell, I know a nicely done model when I see one and Evan Jones has certainly gone the AMS route on this one to produce a superbly detailed miniature.

Next is the first of four parts in building the Revell 1/48 Ventura by regular contributor, Vic Schuerman. This edition takes care of some of the internal and external bits in terms of accurizing the kit to meet Canadian specs.

We then have a short article on acrylic metal finishes by Kevin Smith and while I don't totally agree with the author on everything he states, he does make some good points and provides an option for those who might want one.

Randy Lutz, another regular has a nice article on the Hasegawa 1/48 J7W1 Shiden. As usual, a lot of work and effort are put into improving the kit and the results are worth the time.

Finally, Barry Madden builds the AFV Club 1/350 Type VIIc U-boat. This one is not festooned with aftermarket and looks great. A goodly portion of the article goes into how Barry did his rough seas base for his boat.

It is another great edition and unusual in that there is no armor article this time. How do you get this great edition? Simply join IPMS Canada and trade money for magazines. It is well worth it.
