NOTES:

The latest edition of Random Thoughts arrived on my doorstep a day or so back, and as usual, I tore into reading it. The editor is continuing to do little bits of work on things; some of them rather subtle. It seems as if RT has settled down to doing 36 pages and providing most of it in full color. As usual, there are a half dozen articles; most of which are aircraft. Like Modeling Madness, RT can only do what people send in.

Once past the editorial and the chapter stuff, there is a superb article on converting the Heller 1/400 HMC Colossus into the HMCS Bonaventure. The article includes a full air wing of stoofs and sea kings.

The second article is a very nice one on building the CMR 1/72 Spitfire prototype after it got it's light blue grey paint scheme.

The third work of art is a very nicely done Hasegawa 1/48 Stuka in Hungarian service.

Then we move to a 5th Canadian Armored Regiment Sherman as it was in Italy during 1944. The kit used for this one is the very nice and somewhat pricey Tasca kit of the Sherman V.

Moving to 1/72 scale we have an excellent  Brazilian AF-1 Skyhawk. This is an ex-Kuwaiti A-4KU using the the Fujimi kit.

The last article is a rather extensive conversion using the Airfix and Revell Lancasters to make a very nice presentation model of a 426 Sq RCAF Lancaster II (with radial engines).

In all another outstanding issue and well worth the price of admission. As a final note, it appears that some decals will be in the next edition or two; a great reason to join up, eh?
