NOTES: |
Continuing with the addition
of color to the issues, this particular one has it on the inside two pages
as well as the front and back covers. The editor states that the cost is
relatively high and will use color only for models and not photos of real
things, which I think is great. I'd also go for having the back cover be
something different from the main cover subject if that is possible, though
in this edition it works well.
As with the previous issue, the focus is on quality vs quantity in terms of articles.
The model articles consist of:
--A Canadian Korean
Sherman
--The Hobbycraft YP-59 as shown on the cover
--A 'razorback' Tamiya 1/48 P-47D
There are articles by Sid Arnold on armor stuff as well as Randy Lutz's provocative essay on how aftermarket is making us all lazy!
A short photo essay on Mig-29s at Maple Flag 2000 is included as well as some excellently penned kit reviews.
On a personal note, I was wickedly pleased to note that Vic Scheuerman also neglected to trim the upper wing roots on his YP-59 kit. Now I don't feel so badly about totally hosing mine!
