For their next publication, RAF-in-Combat has continues with their excellent series on flight leaders. If you recall, the series concentrates on those men who, during the course of the war, were put into positions of leadership. In this case they either led squadrons or wings/groups.

The book provides entries in alphabetical order according to the man's last name. Now this first edition is not all A's and B's but a nice collection that covers the alphabet more or less. Each entry has a page that provides a photo of the man and one of his aircraft (or in some cases a full color profile) along with his country of origin, an image of his wings and any of the major awards he earned while in service during the conflict.  Note that the illustration to the right is not from this volume, but is quite representative of what is on each page.

In addition, there is a nice rundown of his service history, all making for a very interesting read and something that both historians and modelers will enjoy. The research is top rate, making this an excellent reference book as well.

The book is available both in print via Amazon and soon as an e-book for those who like that media. It seems there are over 50 entries in this one so it is well worth picking up (or downloading).
