What do you do when you have published hundreds of aviation titles and are looking for a way to make use of some of the illustrations you have amassed? You do a spotter's guide.

This 216 page book from Osprey covers mid-WWI until today with a superb selection of famous aircraft that have been in the skies. Each of the entries covers three pages. The first page deals with the history of the type. Next there is a table of statistics. On this second and on the third page are profiles that have been gleaned from the various Osprey Aircraft of the Aces or Squadrons book. The third page provides information on the two profiles that were chosen. This covers 64 aircraft from the Sopwith Pup to the Rockwell B-1. If you can think of a famous military aircraft that has seen a lot of service, there is an excellent chance that it is covered in this handy pocket book.

It all makes for an excellent book for the beginner and one that will come in handy for the more knowledgeable aircraft enthusiast as well. It makes for a fun read that won't break the bank and I know you will like it.
