Here is another addition to Osprey's growing selection of graphic history books. These are aimed at readers of all ages, but I'd have to think that it is meant more for younger readers to spark their interest in historical events.

Each one of these books opens with a historical synopsis of events leading to the battle, and includes period photos and maps of the area. At the end is an 'Aftermath' section that explains the importance of the main event and how it affected future developments.

This particular volume covers the attack on Pear Harbor. It does a superb job of putting together a lot of information in the proper sequence. Not only are the battle sequences in order, but there are snippets of information included that show how some of the major and minor players reacted to the chain of events. One thing I learned is that when the destroyer rams a submarine the sound it makes is "Funch!".

All kidding aside, this really is a well done book and should provide an excellent introduction to this event. As with all Osprey titles, it is one that you can buy with confidence.
