Always nice to see a new publication and this one is particularly well done. Within its 36 A4 size pages is a brief history of the war on the eastern front starting in June of 1944. By then, the German army was on retreat on all fronts, though trying valiantly to hold off the inevitable onslaught. Most of the equipment and most of the troops were deployed along what was still a very long front in the western Soviet Union.

This historical section covers the first few pages and the last few pages of the book. It includes some maps, unit charts and photographs. The rest of the book is what I like to see and that is page after page of full color, superbly drawn profiles.

In particular, the profiles are of tracked vehicles. This includes Panzer III and IV tanks as well as the Tiger and Panther. Included are several halftracks as well as some StuG III and IV assault guns. Just about all of the vehicles are in various patterns of camouflage that include the tan, green and brown schemes. Not only vehicles, but those gun emplacements that consist of basically tank turrets imbedded in the ground are included in the profiles.

Over all, it is a superb book that is just the sort of inspiration modelers need to start on a new project. It is a book that I can quite easily recommend to you.
