Dataview has always been known for producing some interesting and unusual subjects and this is their first spiral-bound book. While some may not be fond of the format, I've found that spiral binding a book that is designed for the modeler is a real plus. It allows one to have the page of interest open and without any of the usual hassles of keeping open an end-bound book.
All of the images in the book are either official USN/USMC or taken by Dataview at various air shows. This works quite well aside from having some crowds in the background of a few of the close-ups. There are also few upper surface close images because of this, but that is not a real problem as the other images cover that area well. I might suggest to the photographer for the next book, that a short step ladder will help in this area. I used to carry one to shows just to get above the masses!
In addition to the great photos, there is a well done history of the type, including its use in NASA service for various test programs. Overall this is really an excellent modeler's resource as well as a book of interest for fast jet/F-18 fans.
