One day it had to happen and that time is now. The final volume in Classic Publications long running series on the Jagdwaffe is here and it ends with those Luftwaffe aircraft that have captured the imagination of most of us; the jet and rocket planes. While their total number of successful missions is minute in the vast scheme of things, their mere presence was enough to cause great concern amongst the Allies.

I should mention that if you own the hard bound series on the Me-163 and the Me-262, then you will recognize much of what is in this edition. There is also a lot in here that is new, especially when it comes to the early portion of the history of the development of these aircraft. For instance, there is a photo of the He-176 rocket fighter, the first time I've ever seen a picture of this plane in over 35 years of interest in the type. There are also new-to-me photos of the Me-163 and Me-262 included.

True to form, this volume has several personal experiences from the men who flew these aircraft, along with excellent period photos, some of them in color. This is further enhanced by a large number of outstanding color profiles. As with all of the Classic books, these profiles are accompanied by photos of the aircraft from which the information was gleaned. No more concern about fictitious schemes as you have the originals right there for comparison.

Overall, an outstanding finale to an equally outstanding series of books. I can most highly recommend this one to you.
