It seems as if the 'top shots' series is going to cover a wide array of military subjects and this one is on one of the standard German Army trucks of WW II, the 2 1/2 ton Opel Blitz.

As with all books in this series that concern older equipment, a restored vehicle is used for the walk-around. This particular one is painted in Panzer Yellow and is the slightly shorter 'A' version with all wheel drive

The book provides a short historical background and then gets into the photos. Starting with overall images, it then moves into specific portions of the truck. Other than the bed area, all parts of this vehicle are photographed. There are over 150 superb images and the pages alternate between color and black & white images.

Included with the book is a 'goodie'. In this case it is a decal sheet in 1/72 and 1/35 scale that offers a variety of license plates that would have been used on the Blitz at some time during its wartime career. The sheet is printed by Techmod and is very nicely done.

This book coincides very nicely with the newly released Roden 1/72 kit. There are also kits by Italeri and ESCI that provide the modeler with a nice choice for this famous vehicle.
