It seems as if the 'top shots' series is going to cover a wide array of military subjects and this one is on one of the standard Russian Army 'Jeep', the GAZ-67B

As with all books in this series that concern older equipment, a restored vehicle is used for the walk-around. This particular one is painted in the ever popular Russian Army Green

The book provides a short historical background and then gets into the photos. Starting with overall images, it then moves into specific portions of the truck. All parts of this vehicle are photographed. There are over 130 superb images and the pages alternate between color and black & white images. There are also drawings out of the tech manual for some of those areas that are a bit difficult to photograph

Included with the book is a 'goodie'. In this case it is a decal sheet in 1/72 and 1/35 scale that offers a variety of markings carried by the GAZ-67B during its career. Unfortunately, there is no guide for the vast majority of these markings so where they would fit on the vehicle is a mystery. This is one area that I think should be improved by providing a placement guide. The only certainty is one set of license plates shown on a back cover photo. The sheet is printed by Techmod and is very nicely done.

For those of you wondering what models are available, then you need look no further than Tamiya for the 1/35 version and while I don't recall exactly who does one in 1/72, I've seen them on the shelves.
