First of all, let me dispense with the background info on the book.

The size of the book is B5 (250x174 mm) with laminated soft covers, 80 pages printed on glossy art paper. The main text is Finnish with an  English summary. Photo captions are fully bi-lingual for over 150 top quality pictures supplemented by color profiles inside the covers.

For those of you with sharp eyes, you will notice the little 'A' after the 6. This is an updated version of the older issue. While the previous book is still quite good, this one provides a bit more insight into things and has some new images not available in the older book. It also has a really nice colorized photo on the front cover!

The multitude of excellent photographs provide a number of good diorama possibilities and also provide some relevant close-up stuff to help with those who want to super-detail their next G-2 kit. If there was a complaint it would be that the modeler isn't taken into consideration that much as some other publications. By that I mean that some sort of color information could be included in the profiles and some of the photos. The only mention of camo schemes is in the very beginning when it was mentioned that the aircraft were delivered in standard RLM 74/75/76 colors. Yeah, a pitiful complaint, but this is a modeling site so things like that are something I look for in a book! One thing I did note is that in the color profiles the yellow used on those planes repainted in Finnish colors is a distinctly lighter shade than what I suppose is the Luftwaffe yellow used on the RLM painted aircraft.

I can highly recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in the Finnish AF during the war years and  the 109G-2 in particular. The book provides a superb reference for the subtype. I can pretty well guarantee that you won't find this material from any other source!
