This latest from Concord is a photo essay as much as it is a descriptive history of the US Marines operating on the ground in Iraq. It covers all the salient events since the beginning of operations in 2003. Some of the more notable events such as Najaf, Fallujah, the National Elections and others are given separate sections.

In addition to a raft of superlative color photos, all taken by DOD personnel, there are some personal anecdotes of the men who were present during these operations. That, along with the photos, gives the reader some idea of what it was like during those times.

But the photos are what make this book so well done and such a great find. Both the historian and the modeler will find a great deal of inspiration from what is found in these pages. In addition to the images, there are some very nicely drawn profiles of equipment used during the fighting.

In all, an excellent resource and one that I know you will find as much a pleasure to read as did I.
