Another fine title in the Concord catalogue is this one on German light tanks. The book specifically covers the Panzer I, Panzer II, Panzer 35(t), Panzer 38(t) and all of their basic variants. It does not cover conversions into SPGs and other 'non-tank' types. It does cover the Panzer I training tanks and the munitions carriers as those were basically unmodified aside from the lack of a turret and gun.

As with all Concord books of this type, it is basically a photo book taken from private collections and various government archives. There is a goodly historical background on each type and the major variants so that the reader knows what to look for when it comes to tank identification.

The bulk of the book consists of superbly chosen photographs, starting with the Panzer I and going through the other types. Each photo has a caption that describes the outfitting of the vehicle and any unusual aspects or camouflage. Several of the tanks in the photos are subjects of color profiles in the center of the book, by illustrator Laurent Lecocq, of which there are eight pages. These make for superb references for modelers in addition to the photos from which they came.

Overall, this is a superlative book for those who are looking for information and inspiration regarding the light tanks used by the German army during WWII. A great reference and one that I know you will find interesting and inspiring.
