Next in Aero Research's CD catalogue is this one on the F-4 Phantom in USAF and Reserve service. The CD consists of 160 images in 374 Megabytes of space. The images in this one are generally superb with only a few that are a tad on the fuzzy side. Those latter ones are mostly older images that were probably taken from dupes.
The full range of camouflage schemes and unit markings are present on this one and it is arranged by the wing to which the plane was assigned. There were some pretty interesting schemes that I'd not seen before and I consider myself to be a bit of a Phanatic when it comes to the F-4. I did note that there were still quite a few cases where the nose or tail of the image had been trimmed off and I'm not really sure how this can be allowed to happen, unless this is on the original slide. On the plus side, I noticed that each image has information in the header that runs across the top of the viewer that includes the unit, serial, place and date if all parameters are known.
The CD includes all the USAF variants: F-4C/D/E/G as well as RF-4Cs and QF-4s. If you are a Phantom Phanatic or just want a CD with some great photos of the finest tactical jet ever built (some of which are air to air), then this is for you.
You can get more information by e-mailing AeroResearch@Charter.net as they have not yet established a web site. Thanks to Aero Research for the review CD.
