This latest CD from Aero Research is a special release to cover the new Revell 1/72 C-54 kit. This one is a bit different from some of the other CDs produced by Aero Research. For one thing, there are 200 images in 315 MB of disc space, probably the most they have done on a single CD. Another is that there are a rather large number of black and white images. This is because there are so many images from just after the war and into the 1950s when not a lot of photographers were using color film.

Provided on this one are C-54s A to U, which includes Navy/USMC variants and a rather nice selection of DC-4s. Many of the USAF C-54 images were taken at the boneyard and there are also quite a few fire bombers and planes that were used for cargo or other civilian use. Some of these planes are shown with little more than the military logos and insignia covered over or removed and the N numbers rather crudely applied. There are also NASA, FAA, Army, and Coast Guard types in there, the coastie planes being particularly colorful with all the fluorescent paint. Of course, this also includes a wide variety of planes used by other military services as well.

In all, it makes for a great photo reference on the type and should inspire some interesting schemes for those who like to model this aircraft. Thanks to Aero Research for the review CD.
