This latest CD from Aero Research is the first time they have featured the E-2 Hawkeye. The disc also includes the C-2 Greyhound since they share the same flight surfaces. The CD includes ramp shots, taxi images and a few in flight images. I found more than the usual number of images had either the tips of the nose or tail chopped off. Not sure why this is the case, but perhaps it comes from editing with a standard height. Personally, I do not mind a bit of black space if it means a more complete images.
The disc lists each entry according to the unit and includes as much information on the images as is known. A large number of these were taken at NAS Fallon (which was a NAF when I first entered the Navy). While many consider the E-2 a 'boring' aircraft, it sported a nice variety of markings during its career. pylons, something one rarely saw in normal unit service.
In all there are 152 images covering 287 megabytes of data on a single disc. It is the perfect reference for modelers who are interested in either ensuring their markings are accurate or are looking for something a bit out of the ordinary.
In all, it is a fine selection of images and just what the USN modeler will want to have when tackling this aircraft.
