Designed as the USAF's first dedicated air to air fighter (as opposed to an interceptor) since the F-86, the F-15 Eagle was designed with all the right bits to perform this role. Indeed, before the Strike Eagle came along, no F-15 was ever 'burdened' with bombs and even today, those extant F-15 A-D Eagles are still without bomb racks.
This disc from Aero Research covers the full service of the Eagle from the early 1970s when it first entered service until today. For sure, there are some Strike Eagles in this collection, but the majority are the strict air to air versions. There are 153 large images in this particular disc and it is arranged mostly by wing. The ADC units are stuck in there by squadron, but by and large, the wing is the way things are listed. You get everything from the air superiority blue versions to the current mod eagle and gunship grey planes. While there are no da-glo painted prototypes, there are preproduction planes, test aircraft and those with special paint schemes. All the Eagles on this disc are US planes, so no Japanese, or Israeli, or Saudi birds this time around. If a US unit flew it, you'll probably find it here.
It is a disc that the Eagle fan will find to their liking as well as those who have a penchant for fast jets.
