This next DVD from Compendium Films is on Accurate Model AFV Detailing and highlights the work of Angus Creighton.

Angus takes us through several aspects of detailing armor models, and while it is naturally not all-encompassing, it certainly does provide information on doing a number of things to liven up what already comes in the box. Unlike some other 'how to' videos, this one pretty well keeps things in the box and uses scratch-building techniques to provide some of these enhancements.

Things that are covered are; roughing up the edges of armor plating, enhancing and adding welding beads, adding gunfire damage, applying several types of zimmerit, chipping road wheels, working with the various types of aftermarket track systems and a number of other useful details.

As with the previous DVDs in this series, some of the tools and materials used may not be recognizeable by US viewers. However, there is a section in the DVD that lists all the tools and materials used so that these items may be tracked down or US substitutes made.

Overall, it is an excellent 'how-to' video that clearly shows how it all goes together. It has a lot of repeat watching value, something that I know is important when learning.  I'm positive you will pick up on something, regardless of how experienced you are.
