Continuing with Airtime's excellent compilations, is this volume on America's Black Jets. In the usual format of 9 x 12, hardbound editions, this one has over 800 illustrations and photos, most of them in full color. 320 pages makes this one of the largest books in their impressive inventory.
What you get are in-depth profiles of four of America's most famous 'black' programs, including the F-117A Stealth fighter, the B-2 Stealth bomber, the U-2 spy plane, and of course, the famous SR-71 Blackbird .
Each aircraft is described in full with sections on the development, variants, service use, operators, specific projects, technical specs, weapons or payloads and other information relating to the aircraft. An absolute gold mine of information in every page. There are also appendices on the D-21 Drone and one on preserved aircraft. As they say in the trade, it is profusely illustrated!
Those of you who have been steady readers of World Airpower Journal will recognize much of what is in this book. Yet the beauty of this edition is that it is all here under one cover. A book that is an absolute must for those who have always been fascinated by secret aircraft and stealth development.
