Apparently issue #1 of Army Recognition was a success. And it deserves to be so as it is very well done. Each issue provides a number of subjects from mostly European countries, and provides them in such a manner that you get a well rounded look at each one. In addition to the images provided in the magazine itself, there are additional pictures in the CD-ROM that is packaged with each magazine.

It is the in-depth photo coverage that makes this such a desirable publication. To my knowledge, no where else can you find this sort of thing in a periodical.

In this edition are the following subjects:

Pz 87 main battle tank from Switzerland.
Spz 63 armored fighting vehicle from Switzerland
T-90S main battle tank from Russia
T-80 UK main battle tank from Russia
BMR-3M mine clearing armored vehicle from Russia
MRLS M270 multiple rocket launcher from the USA
AMX-10RC wheeled reconnaissance vehicle from France.

In addition to the above vehicles, there is coverage of the Belgian Army exercise 'Ben Hur 2005', and more from the Russian Arms Expo 2002. On the back covers are insignia and uniforms of the Swiss Army.

The magazine is in both Belgian and English. While there is a goodly stats and history section with each vehicle, the focus is on photographs and there are lots of them; all in full color. On most of the A4 sized pages are two large images, providing the sort of detail that modelers are seeking. On the CD-ROM, images are equally as large so no problems peering at teeny pictures!

Overall, this is a great magazine that should appeal to all modern military modelers and fans alike.
