NOTES: | Vinyl Mask Set |
Luftwaffe planes with the splinter pattern have always been a bit of a chore to mask. It frequently takes a lot of time to do these schemes and so having a masking set is a real bonus.
This particular set is for any Ju-87 in the RLM 70/71/65 scheme. The set is quite easy to use. You first paint the underside colors and use the set of demarcation line masks provided. Depending on the aircraft, you may have to adjust the mask for the radiator bath as some planes had the demarcation fairly high up in this are. Once all the RLM 65 bits are masked, one then paints the lighter RLM 71. When dry, this area is masked and the darker color is applied.
I'm not sure if these masks can be reused or not, but I'd give it a go if doing more than one plane. Each set includes a guide as to what goes where and if you visit their web site, there is even more information as to their use. An accessory that has been growing in popularity over the years are vinyl mask sets. Mostly they were used for canopy masks and have become very popular. Another use for these have been for camouflage masks.
The set includes two sheets and I've not shown them as they will simply look like grey-green rectangles. These are available in all major scales with this set being in 1/48.
