NOTES: | Resin |
For their second nuclear device, Spectre Resins has gone to a larger bomb. This is the Mk.39 of a relatively low 1-4 megaton yield. The bomb was carried by B-36, B-47, B-52 and B-58s, finally leaving service in 1966 after an 11 year operational run. These warheads were also used in missiles.
The molding on these bombs is, as you can see, superb. It is the grey resin that seems to be in vogue. Minimal clean up is needed as Spectre Resin has already cut most of the pour stub from the rear of the bomb. A complete history and painting guide is also provided for your use. For those of you who like measurements, and because I just happen to have a ruler nearby, this bomb is a bit under two inches in length, still rather large, even in 1/72 scale. The instruction sheet is really a fact sheet for the bomb including, as in the earlier release, all of the Broken Arrow incidents involving this weapon. There is also a painting guide.
A fine new model accessory that many of you will find of use.
